Photo Print Scanning
Convert your Old Photo Prints to Digital Format
Do you have old photo prints – or even new ones – that you’d like to own in digital format? To meet your needs, I offer a photo scanning service for prints up to A4 in size for conversion into a variety of digital formats. If you have slides or negatives you’d like to convert to digital format, I can also provide high resolution scans for you.
For older or faded prints this service is ideal in combination with my associated digital colour correction and digital photo restoration services. To see the kind of results I can achieve in from scanning your film, coupled with subsequent digital image correction, have a look at this example commission.
When used in combination with my printing service, this will allow for beautiful presentation of your scanned and corrected images, with your choice of a variety of frames and mounts on inkjet or fine art media. Please see the menu at the top of this page for full details on available frames, mounts and other presentation methods.
Should you just require digital images of your scans I can also offer the creation of a private, password-protected upload and download account – provided free of charge for your convenience – or I will provide copies on CD/ DVD as suits your requirements. There is a nominal small charge of £3.60 for optical media to be sent out to you.
I charge £3.00 per print, slide or negative image scan, whilst medium or unusual file format films and transparencies are £6.00 per scan. However, if you have a large number of slides, film strips or transparencies you’d like converted, please contact me to discuss bulk discounts.
The menus at the top of this page also provide more details on my available services, but you can also see my guides and price lists page for standard charges. For further information on film and transparency formats I can scan for you, have a look at my scanning hardware page.
How to Send and Receive your Images
A private, password-protected account can be made available for free on request by contacting me in advance to allow you to upload your pictures to my servers, or by filling out the account request form. I aim to have accounts created within two working days. For more details, please see the client area section of the menu.
However, I am also equally happy to send and receive hard copies of your images on CD/ DVD should you prefer this option; if you wish to receive your images on CD/ DVD, there is a handling fee of £3.60. To send your photos, save them to a CD/ DVD and post them to the address on my contact page (including your name, address and email, and optionally a contact number, as well as any additional instructions or notes you might feel are necessary). As above, your pictures should preferably be sent in high-resolution JPEG format (either sRGB or AdobeRGB colourspace and 300 dpi resolution – see the guidance notes button above).
For more details of costs and other requirements, please see my guides and price lists page; for further information on payment, please also see my payment methods page, or contact me for further details.
